The next expansion in south-eastern Europe
The steel-trading unit of the Helios Metal Center was taken over by FRANKSTAHL. The operations in Plovdiv were started in July 2007.

The fourth joint venture
The foundations for the commencement of operative storage business in Romania were laid in 2006. The offices and the storage facility of the joint venture, which has again been founded with AluKönigStahl, are located in Bucharest.

The third joint venture
2002 sees the foundation of the third joint venture in Slovakia. The company premises are located in Senec, around 20 km east of Bratislava, and have a covered storage area of 12,000m².

The second joint venture
In line with the successful Czech model, the second joint venture with the AluKönigStahl company is officially opened in Hungary. KönigFrankstahl is located in Budapest and disposes over a covered storage area of around 10,000m².

The first joint venture
Joint activities commence with the AluKönigStahl company. The first joint venture, ALUKÖNIGFRANKSTAHL, is founded in the Czech Republic. The covered storage area amounts to 9,000m².

The first acquisition
1997 sees the addition of Friedrich Hirnböck in Salzburg to the FRANKSTAHL Group. In October 2004, the companies are merged to form FRANKSTAHL Rohr- und Stahlhandel. The storage facilities and sales office in Nußdorf Salzburg serve western Austria and Bavaria, Germany.

The FRANKSTAHL Prague trading company focuses on international pipeline project business. The company obtains customers on every continent.

The second move
Seven years barely elapse before the company premises in Traiskirchen are unable to cope with FRANKSTAHL’s rapid growth. A new 50,000m² site is purchased in Guntramsdorf south of Vienna and occupied in mid-1986.

The first move
As a result of a decade of strong growth, the Viennese location becomes too small for further expansion, new business premises were established in Traiskirchen. 1979 sees the move from Vienna.

The Javor family business
As a 21-year-old student Erwin Javor takes over the Bela Frank flange factory from the widow of Bela Frank and the amazing story of Frankstahl starts here. Since then he built a strong and unique company that operates not only in Austria as a market leader but is also truly international , with ventures in 9 countries in Europe.
